that's is a very good question, speaking from experience of having so many shoes, I think for me I can always think of an outfit that would go great with them, or a sale that's going on, I know my main issue is paying full price, I alway internet shop to find the lowest price and if I like and think its a good enough steal I get them. I also buy them because they make me feel good.
It's like when a guy get's something for his car, can anyone explain to me why someone is will to shell out thousands of dollars for a sound system? They would say they are making an investment, same thing with me;)
After a point in life you just stop questioning and accept that that is the way it is. I equate it to POWER TOOLS.

I'm not a woman who has some let alone close to any of the fashion sense that my peers have. I have just enough in my collection, but it's not a ridiculous amount either. Too much is having to buy a pair for EVERY outfit!! That's ridiculous! Once I hit star status, I might have a ridiculous amount. Until then, i'll settle for my sensible collection.
